Visas and permits
As Arca is recognized by the Ministry of Public Education, people from all over the world are able to obtain regular visas to study here.
If you come from a non-European country, according to Italian government regulations controlling the entry of foreign nationals into the country, you will need to enrol plenty of time before the course starts. You are also required to pay a deposit equal to 100% of the registration fee for the whole of the course itself.
As soon as you have done this, the school will send you a letter of admission which you must present to your Embassy or Consolate. If you should not obtain the visa, we will of course refund the whole amount paid by you less 200 Euro for administration fee.
For any other information you may need, please don't hesitate to contact us: we'll be delighted to help!
At Arca you will find:
A team at your disposal for information about courses, accommodation, activities and cultural events in Bologna and surroundings, as well as any other needs or requests you may have
Classrooms provided with audio and audiovisual equipment
(CD, VHS and DVD players, video-screens)
A multimedia room with wireless Internet connection, where you can use the computers and surf the net free of charge during school opening-hours
A collection of books, video-cassettes and DVDs which can be borrowed or viewed at school.
One of our staff will meet you at the airport or train-station and drive you to your accommodation, if you wish (price on request).
From the airport, you can of course also take a taxi or the shuttle (aerobus), which leaves every 15/30 minutes from the airport exit (between 6 am and 11.40 pm) for the town-centre and finally the train-station. Tickets can be purchased on board and cost € 6,00.
From the train station, you can either take a taxi or a bus. The bus-ticket costs € 1,20 and is valid for 60 minutes: it can be purchased at newsagents or tobacconists inside the station or at the ticket office of ATC (public transport) just outside the station on the right. A number of buses (but not all) have ticket-machines, however you will need the exact change, a € 1,50 piece or the equivalent in small change, as these machines give no change.
If you intend to use the bus to get to school, we advise you to buy a city-pass (10 rides for € 11,00) which you can also buy in any newsagent's, tobacconist's or ATC office.
